An aerial view of Manhattan reveals an intricate grid system of city blocks running north, south, east and west, crisscrossing throughout the island. The city'’s equally complex public transportation system mimics this grid and allows you to get just about anywhere in the city and outer boroughs for no more than two dollars. Complex however, doesn't mean complicated and whether above ground or below, mass transit is the most efficient way to get around the city.
