Once the home of Grace Kelly, this enormous post war building marked the beginning of the age of “white-brick” buildings. Built in the 50’s and then owned by New York Life Insurance Company, Manhattan House occupies the full block between Third and Second Avenues, and 65th and 66th Streets.
200 East 66th Street, also knows as Manhattan House, is one of my favorite conversion on the Upper East Side and a must see. Each apartment has grand classic layouts, large living spaces, windowed kitchens, luxury finishes - including recreated crown moldings - and top-of-the-line appliances! Furthermore, the flooring of each tower is of an eye-catching and super elegant dark or light oak plant. Bathrooms are appointed with heated Jerusalem limestone flooring and walls covered in subway tile. Kitchens all fully equipped with Viking appliances and their own wine coolers, all units have their own washer and dryer, and many units also offer an outdoor space and fireplace.
It is a building that can not be over looked, and for those looking to purchase a home opposed to ‘an apartment’, this sure is it!
