Some of the best experiences I had as a child were influenced by my attendance as a student in P.S. 187 otherwise known as Hudson Cliffs located in the heart of Hudson Heights for Distric 6. Teachers and guidance counselors are always attentive and passionate, the principals and the rest of administrators are great positive leaders, and the events and recreational activities keep the students interested and engaged.
As students you are constantly challenged and nurtured, and yet, rewarded with movie day during Friday Assembly that takes place every week; and fun educational activities like Science Fairs keep students and parents connected to what’s being taught in class.
Not only did I attend P.S. 187, my father and his triplet brothers went to this school, my siblings, and cousins and neices have all attended as well. To make the story even more interesting, some of the teachers that are currently there like Mrs. Ryan Marry, and Ms. Dimitra Daskaris were friends and classmates of mine during my years in PS 187. What I’m trying to say is that in this school, it’s a cyclical generation here. Education, teachers, and discipline is quality-driven; always challenging the students mathematically, scientifically, and artistically.
