139 Wooster Street

This modern historic cast iron building was designed by Beyer Blinder Belle in 2006. The architect combined two buildings on Wooster Street and West Broadway to deliver this sought after luxury loft situated on a block where couture shopping arena, local street artist and renowned galleries - most in demand block for both professionals and artists.

The two buildings are creatively connected by a beautiful botanical garden. The units are accentuated with 11-foot ceilings and incredible light from oversized windows facing east. The spacious square-shaped living room features wide plank oak floors and extends into an open chef’s kitchen complete with premium appliances including a Miele stove and a Sub-Zero refrigerator and duo-climate controlled wine cooler. The master bath displays Oyster Beige marble floors and walls, a spacious Neptune soaking tub, a separate shower, and a finely milled Wenge wood vanity with a double-sink and imported Lagos Azul limestone countertops.

The building contains 16 units of 2 bedrooms, 3 bedrooms and 6 bedrooms complimented with several customized finishes including outfitted closets, specialized lighting, a wireless s sound system and electronic window shades. A top-of-the-line Bosch washer and dryer complete the space and ownership of two storage units is included with the sale of this apartment. The building amenities include a full-time concierge, a beautifully planted outdoor space with a waterfall, and a fitness studio with state-of-the-art weight lifting towers and Cybex cardiovascular equipment. Parking is available across the street and the building is close to some of the finest boutiques, shops and restaurants that the city has to offer.

The two bedrooms are one of my favorite lines for the sleek space, open layout and soaring ceiling heights it offers. Typical two bedrooms average approximately between 1447 – 3072 square feet.

Health Conscious? This Ice Cream Shop Serves All-Natural!

Make sure not to be mistaken about this shop because it is truly one of a kind. In terms of their credentials, Emack & Bolio’s - SoHo is the #1 ranked store out of the 23 stores across the nation (based on value). Whether you are a sweet tooth or a health nut, E&B- SoHo pleases all. Ever hear of bovine somatotropin? BST is a hormone that stimulates the milk production in cows. E&B makes sure that every spoonful of their ice cream is all-natural and has zero amount of BST. If you drop in their store, you will see signs saying NO BST posted up on the wall.

When I made my initial visit, I tried these six flavors:

1. Peanut Butter Cup
2. Caramel Mooseprints
3. Serious Chocolate Addiction
4. Grasshopper Pie
5. Deep Purple Cow
6. Pumpkin Ice Cream Pie

All six flavors were AWESOME!

Another day, another week, another amazing apartment; one thing New York City isn’t short of is amazing apartments. And I have fallen in love yet again! This time its with a lovely seven story building in Soho. I am sure you’re wondering why such a short building when I love the height and architecture that goes along with high-rise buildings. Well one thing that all buildings have in common is their layouts. A well planned layout will get me any day and this one definitely has a fabulous one.

Last week I went to this building with my wife. As a realtor, it makes sense to view buildings with the opposite sex to get their input and to see how a woman would approach living there. Anyway as she gets to the building, she immediately falls in love with the door handles (women really notice the weirdest things), which were designed by Michele Oka Doner, the lobby is very tasteful and is literally a miniature showing of all things artistic. George Condo, and Peter Lame were the other two famous artists that had artwork featured in the Lobby. I immediately felt like I had stepped into a very trendy boutique hotel, something I’ve always loved, my wife also agreed.

On getting off the elevator on the 4th floor, we are reminded that this is JUST six residences, so it opens straight into the apartment (there is also a separate service entrance as well). This lovely 3 bedroom+ study, 4 bath apartments on the 4th floor boasts over 3,500 sf of space. It is HUGE. One of the first things to hit you once you walk in, is the lovely foyer and you’re hit with so much light. I guess with 10’7” ceilings and triple exposure, we can understand why. If light really isn’t your thing they have thought of that too - motorized solar blackout shades . The expansive open kitchen features bethel white granite countertops with black walnut and stainless steel cabinetry; Gaggenau gas cooktop and oven, sub-zero refrigerator, Miele dishwasher, integrated wine cooler, platinum matt stainless steel fixtures…that’s just the kitchen mind you! It was hard peeling my wife away from it, she just kept oohing and aahing all over the place. This was obviously not going to end well…

As we moved into the very first powder room, we couldn’t help but notice the white carrara marble walls, simply put…it makes you WANT to find an excuse to go to use it. I had to find a reason to peel my wife away from the mirrored medicine cabinets as she kept looking at the mirrors…which were inside and out.

The best part of this entire tour had to be the master bedroom which was spacious, includes 2 walk in closets, his and hers sinks in the bathroom, sunken tub as well as a steam shower with the wonderful carrara marble showing more in the well appointed master bath.

Unfortunately for me, I now have to face my wife who now wants to move in!! Anyone got an extra 8 mill lying around?

Let me introduce you to your new home, I guarantee you’ll fall in love.

These are some of the best Italian sandwiches I’ve had in New York, but they come at a price. Alidoro has an extensive menu of sandwiches featuring Italian cold cuts and cheeses as well items like artichoke hearts and peppers. The ingredients are authentic and fresh.

I would suggest the Matthew - prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, dressing, arugula - or the Pinocchio - prosciutto, sopressata, fresh mozzarella, sweet roasted peppers, olive paste. Both are superb, as is pretty much everything else on the menu.

The sandwiches are large, but no cheap - the prices range from $7 for something simple to $12 or so for a more extensive array of ingredients. This is primarily a take-out place and the staff is almost comically grumpy, but the long lunch time lines show that many feel the product is worth it.

What makes the lobster roll even better is that it is served with NY Magazine’s pick for best French fries in the city – and trust me they are good.

Ed’s is owned and operated by former Pearl sous chef Ed McFarland. This is the same man that taught Martha Stewart how to make lobster galette on her television show, so you know the food has got to be good!

The nautical décor and chalk board menu give you that New England feel and the long, skinny bar makes for intimate quarters with your fellow diners. It’s always busy and they don’t take reservations, so you may want to hit their brunch and lunch to avoid the dinner rush.

It’s not cheap, but the lobster is well worth the investment.

What other city other than New York would have a boutique perfumery that offers a scent for every neighborhood? Bond Perfume headquarters is located at 9 Bond Street and just as there is no place like NYC; Bond Perfume is like no other fragrance store. Each scent represents a specific downtown, midtown, or uptown locale, New York’s beaches, or a city-wide emotion.

The mission of the Bond Perfume Collection is “to restore artistry to perfumery, and to mark every New York neighborhood with a scent of its own.” Besides perfumes, Bond No. 9 offers candles, body lotions, colorful candy looking samples, gift sets, stunning limited edition bottles, and t-shirts.

Bond No 9 also has the first fragrance recycling program. All you have to do is bring your finished bottle to any Bond Store or fragrance counter, and as an appreciation to being eco-friendly, you will receive a free purse size spray with any purchase. So for the savvy buyer - that is a $50 gift just for recycling.

Bond No. 9 has become an addiction for me. I started with their signature fragrance Bond NO. 9. Oh so yummy! Once I tried one though, I was hooked and had to try another. Just as you can love different areas of the city, you definitely will fall in love with many o f the scents in the Bond No. 9 collection. My top favorites: Chinatown, Lexington Avenue, Scent of Peace, Bond No. 9, and Nuits de Noho. Whenever I wear a Bond fragrance I am constantly stopped by people telling me how good I smell.

To check out these amazing fragrances stop by SAKS or any of the Bond Stores.

34 Greene Street is a condo conversion of a 2873 cast-iron loft building on a cobblestone block between Canal and Grand Street. When it is finished, it will be one of the premier boutique condos in SoHo. What makes this conversion so special is that it will be made up of only seven floor-through private keyed-elevator loft apartments.

When it is finished, it will be one of the premier boutique condos in SoHo. What makes this conversion so special is that it will be made up of only seven floor-through private keyed-elevator loft apartments.

The finishes are what make these apartments truly special: wide plan oak floors, restored brick, Calacata marble islands, and bidet cast-iron soaking tub. Plus each apartment has its own laundry room and Schiffini kitchens with Miele appliances Layouts have two-bedrooms with a home office and two full bathrooms. Ceiling height varies from 12-14 feet.

One of the coolest things about this project is that the lobby will have cobblestone floors!
