The John Street corridor is full of residential conversions and 100 John Street is yet another. These apartments are rather unique with a variety of sizes and floorplans. For those that work from home, many of these units have home offices so you won’t be cramped for work space. There is also high speed internet access and multiple phone-line capability.
The dream that was never realized - 80 South Street – was intended to be a unique residential sculpture by Santiago Calatrava and even the idea generated a frenzy of press. The City Bank-Farmers Trust Company Building is a landmarked structure, originally constructed in 1931 and one of the world’s 10 tallest buildings until 1970.
For those condo buyers looking for new construction in the Financial District, this is one to keep an eye on. Still under construction, but looks like it’s going to be an amazing project by Architect Meltzer/Mandl.

The partnership has created an opportunity for residents to have access to an incomparable amount of hotel services & 30,000 sqft of amenities. Room service, housekeeping, wake up calls and pretty much anything else a resident could want is all readily available. (Though buyers should note that many of these services are in addition to the purchase price & common charges.)
The W at 123 Washington Street has yet to open and already it’s my favorite new development in the financial district and for anyone who has ever stayed at a W Hotel, they’ll immediately know why.

Every time I walk in this building I feel like Perry White (Superman’s boss) is going to come down and send me out on an assignment! All Art Deco blushed steel and massive marble works, right out of a marvel comic book.
The three words that come to mind when describing this building are convenience, value and quirk. First it’s quirky history. When built in 1899 this was the tallest building in the world, its original owner, August Belmont, built the first NY subway and later founded the Belmont racetrack.
This really is the gold standard (no pun intended) for Financial District rentals. Let’s start with the fact that because it is on a plaza you have open views out of most apartments.
